Gattaca
one of my favourite movies of all time... rhetorical yet simple enough for me to understand when i 1st saw it.
amazing stuff really.
Kinda thought of it alot recently... can someone really push it so far to the limit and not get caught? maybe then that person is worthy? or maybe he was lucky?
RSAF has called upon me... a dream of a lifetime i must admit. In the same context, i'm kinda comparable to the main character in Gattaca, Vincent. His body is frail, imperfect - a natural born human. Compared to his genetically enhanced brother, there is no fight.
But then there is this thing here called human spirit, or determinance. The protagonist, here on forth "The Pro", who somehow manages to catch up to his brother and eventually goes into space, despite all the checkpoints.
Here's a qoute, one that has been serving me well whenever i've doubts about life and challenges from this movie:
"Vincent! we've got to turn back, we're too far off the shore!"
"no Anton."
"how?! how is any of this even possible?"
"I didnt save anything for the trip back"
