The OS

OmG had a best friend.

His name - Windows.
Windows was a easy peron, things run relatively smoothly, nothing complex. He seems to be quite the popular person around...

They knew each other since 1995... heh they pratically grew up together. They played all sorts of games together from old school games like Daggerfall, doom, wolfenstein, RA (Red Alert dammit) to today's WC3, Far Cry... damm the list is neverending.

But when it comes to work, its all serious in the office. Every now and then they visit the photo shop to do some image stuff too...

But yea like all people, Windows will fall sick. Every now and then he gets viruses from his "network" (kinda like his "hood"). Now, nobody likes Windows when he's sick. He turns all blue start spouting nonsense like "Dumping memory", "hardware/software conflict detected".

heh, like the hell we know what youre talking about dude. Maybe he's like love-sick or something, trying to dump all the memory...
But hey when he's fine, things are great.

OSX lives just next door to OmG.
The Macs (yea thats OSX's surname... pretty wierd eh? well so is OSX's name...) seems be earning BIG bucks. Damm they have everything; 30" cinematic displays, em 60 gig ipod photos... gosh it makes people sooooooo envious.

So yea, i noticed they have like a fetish for apples? its EVERYWHERE in their house man, and they are custom made with so much style! Its almost like "I wanna be like the Macs when i grow up" kinda thing with all the kids now? but hey if everyone tries to be "different" and they all become like the Macs, whats so different about them?

hmm everything runs sooo smoothly in their family. Never once heard a quarrel, not even a slight displeasure at something... Maybe its because the photo shop is located nearer to the Macs' then Window's house, thats why they kinda get there and back faster? I dunno man.

its kinda wierd too, when they are so friendly and stuff? they invite you to join them, kinda like evangelizing(or however you spell the word) people... its almost brainwashing, but hey they have valid reasons...

the only thing bad i noticed from them is the huge, i mean HUGE ass fan at the back of their house. It goes off like a aeroplane, when the family's like doing something in their house... building an aeroplane perhaps? who knows.

then theres the HEAT man. the SCORCHING HEAT.
If i were to accidently drop an egg next door, it'll probably cook in like what less then a minute? haha then it gets like toast-ed if you get what i mean.

So yea OSX's pretty cool with me, we've worked together on several projects, final cuts and stuff... But he's boring dude, all work no play.

Tried playing like Far Cry, some SW games and he just WONT PLAY. so hes kinda like a nerd in that sense...

Then one day, while working, I met Linux.
Shes a BOMB shell. kinda have a crush on her, but i just dont understand her language, heck which guy understands a girl completely. Their erractic, irrational.

I tried pick up lines like "cd.." in her directory, she doesnt understand!?
so i went back, read some books on girls
the next day i like tried to show off my external hdd?
i said "hey check this out: cd /media/storage"

heh i read from somewhere that its their custom to go to another directory but putting a cd and typing extensively the paths involved.

she goes "huh? no such file/pathname"
ima like "WT*?! its right there? isnt it?"

So i tried several different methods to show her
then it hit me... "hey, cd /media/Storage"
OMFG she reads the frikin CAPPED S.

i yea i feel like i know her abit better now? but still not completely...

Black Apple Done

heh

Managed to crack all the jargons and install osx on my desktop...
lol gotta say, it looks good.

but then again there are several notes:
1) The interface is extremely slow and glitchy here and there
might be the video card. Will try to use onboard and see how it adds up..
might be the lack of memory? 512 mb apparently didnt suffice?

2) itunes dont work: yes... ive been warned, having a chip that only supports up to sse2... damm i wished i had sse3

3) THE VOLUME BUTTON ON MY KEYBOARD WORKS! haha one of the pros from the cons... amazing..

4) have yet to try out other apps... will do when i get to chen's stash ahaha and yea both of us were working on it together for the whole friking day...

damm the unix language, its so strict... managed to learn quite some shit today though.
If you are stuck at having no permission to do "dd bs=1048576 if=./tiger-x86-flat.img of=/dev/hda"(typed all from memory) all i gotta say is... YOU ARE PWNED N00B!

sudo su~ sudo su~....

THATS SOME WICKED SHIT
thats like honey to geek's ears man.

requires SSE2 as minimum requirement: Check
requires empty harddisk lying ard doing nothing: Check
requires someone brave (and smart) enough not to blow up his pc unit: Check

hey that sounds like a plan... only that i've got 24 days left...
lets go out with a bang eh? before army comes...
