Wah lao again...

This time, imagine its your 1st time taking a long route march.

on the 5km point, a recruit wants to fall out citing back pain as a excuse.
without medics on the move i had to bring him to the 6km point.

we reached... painfully slow. There was another recruit throwing up at the hut.

"oei, go and see knn. people walk until throw up u still ok, like that you want to fall out."

Just after finish telling him that, i turned around....
KNN, its another one of my recruit that was throwing up. -_____-
fucked up.

i ended up carrying recruit 1's fieldpack all the way back to start point. (we walked 4km by 4km, 2km up 2km down.)

best of all i holland. congratulations...
knn ended up walking around 5+ km for that round

at that point i was honestly abit shag so i told recruit 2
"look, theres a possibility that they dont let you complete the 12km because of timing issues (smoking recruit 101)"
"if you want to do this, we're gonna go fuck fast to catch up, you think you can do it?"
"i try sergeant"

everything on.... a fast march + run in FBO ensues
until i finally caught up with a halted alpha company, taking a company shot

shiok ah the feeling

things you thought not possible at 1st, big words you say,
all backed up by solid willpower and fighting spirit
equals to miracles

the next day, while doing a FFI for my upcoming course, my oc called me up to go to S2 branch
i was greeted of course by S2's head, S4, S3 and CO

"Shit what the heck did i do wrong"

"3SG Puan... you are awarded battalion best soldier of the month, congrats!"

3 am

Imagine this.

There's an uber important briefing early in the next morning. You sleep late, because you know your cards, you will not be late the next morning.

3am
The phone you placed under your pillow rings and jolts you awake.

"Sergeant.." a faint female voice (?!)
"Sergeant Chi Heng, this is __'s mom, so sorry to disturb you at this hour, but __'s fiance is giving birth soon. I cant get to __... could you please try to get him to call us?"
"?!"

I take a look at the time.
3:28am, the time read cruelly.

"God..." I groaned, taking a moment to register what just happened.

FUCK! i jolted up.
This is a life we're talking about here, if i were him i would have killed to get to my girl and kid.
I picked up the phone and slammed the company's number in, got the duty personnel to wake up and get the proper arrangement.
Set the phone down for awhile.

Fuck it aint gonna cut it, i wacked my friend's number in and got him up to make sure things are moving.

I took a good 1/2 hour to get back to sleep.

I got up, went to the briefing. Ran some errands. Went back to camp.

Then i heard the good news.
"It's a baby girl!"
When my recruit eventually got back, and i shook his hand and congratulated him... It was the ultimate feeling man, aint nothing that even came close.

"Thank you sergeant, for this morning"

The World is Beautiful

hah reiterating on a point i made about travelling

Theres so much to do, so many people to meet, endless things to buy/eat...
Was hoping to get leave to go to thailand with kong and the rest but it looks rather bleak because of work commitments.

A Taipei trip at the end of the year however, seems plausible
*can i get a hands up whos interested*

but back to the main point
the gals there really are so fine, it makes the world feel beautiful
ahhh
